Royal Commonwealth Society of Cameroon's PledgePage
RCS Cameroon promotes within Cameroon, and through the worldwide RCS network, an understanding of the nature and function of the Commonwealth, and the factors which shape the lives of its peoples and the policies of its governments. Underlying the work of the society is the belief that an understanding of the Commonwealth, and a commitment to its fundamental values, is key to creating successful multicultural societies across the world.
... The worldwide Royal Commonwealth Society itself is an educational charity working in the UK and internationally, particularly through its extensive network of affiliated branches and Commonwealth societies around the world. As the oldest Commonwealth body in existence, it plays an active part in developing links between Commonwealth organisations and in encouraging the growth of strong civil societies in the Commonwealth. It also promotes debate, and the development of policy, on key Commonwealth and international issues, through its public affairs programme. ... RCS Cameroon operates to this end through a network of its offices, volunteers, leading professionals and program collaborators throughout the country. Past program collaborations have included human rights education, electoral observation, HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns, poverty alleviation initiatives and promoting the Commonwealth Club in schools and the Essay Competition and Arts Award. |
